The world
A world the gods forgot
In the beginning, the old gods made themselves resting places — quiet gardens beyond the reach of time, where the light pools warm and honey-slow. Ambryx was one of them. Then the new gods took the heavens, and no one came back for it. No one claimed it. No one closed the gates.
The magic they left behind did not fade with them. It sank — deeper with every century, ancient and wild and answering to no one. It is not dangerous out of malice. It is dangerous the way deep water is dangerous: no one living remembers where it ends.
Ambryx is not dark. It is forgotten — a room whose light has slowly gone out. — The Lore of Ambryx
The characters
Choose your soul
Six outcasts stand in the clearing: a frost mage his own village learned to fear, a druid who reads everyone she meets, a smith who protects his home by never going back, an oracle who answered something that was never meant to be answered, a dead man collecting what he is owed, and a huntress who is quite sure she tracked something all the way here. Who is good and who is evil is not written anywhere. That part is yours.
The cards
An arsenal drawn in ink
Over 330 cards — creatures, spells and weapons — every one painted in the same sumi-e brush. Two copies of a card at most, one of a legend. Build a warband of 25 and settle your debt.
The duel
How a reckoning works
Build your warband
Choose a character and forge a deck of 25 in the Warband Forge — creatures, spells, weapons. Two copies of a card at most. One of a legend.
Enter the Glade
Mana rises each turn. Play minions, cast spells, loose your signature attack — in any order the mana allows.
Settle the debt
Bring the other soul to nothing. The winner steps closer to what they seek. The loser fades — one more warm light drifting in the Glade.
